Dear Rock Canyon School Parents,

Our First Term will come to an end this Friday. We will be holding SEP Conferences next week on Tuesday - Thursday, Oct. 27th - 29th.  Please come to the school and sign up for a conference time. Due to health, or other issues, some teachers have written notes to parents regarding their SEP schedule and have asked for a change of time and a later date  for conferences. A few teachers are trying out an electronic, on-line sign-up system. All that being said, we hope to see you at Rock Canyon School for SEP Conferences.

Also Remember that a 1:30  p.m. dismiss time for students will occur during the three SEP Conference days next week (Tuesday - Thursday). If you have any questions, please contact the office.

Thank you

October 5th - 9th

Dear Rock Canyon School Parents,

Today, Oct 8th, our students had an assembly on Internet Safety (NetSafe). I would invite parents to have dialog with your children about what they have learned this week to be safe while being on-line and discuss what your rules are as well when using home computers, iphones, etc. This is part of our school plan to make sure that we reach out to our community to help children be Cyber-Safe.

Thank you

Dear Patrons of Rock Canyon Elementary,

This year the State of Utah will distribute approximately $30,000.00 to Rock Canyon Elementary School.  The funds are generated from the interest gained on state owned lands dedicated to help public education. It is called the School Land Trust program, or Trustlands. Our Community Council is made up of members of our community and employees from our school. The Council’s responsibility is to evaluate the areas where the funding would be spent the best to help in student achievement.

If you ever wish to contact any of our council members, or want to attend any of our meetings, you are welcome to do so.

Listed below are our Community Council members for 2014 – 2015:

Rock Canyon 2014 SAGE Tests

Percent Proficient

2013-14 SAGE Summative average proficiencies shown below reflect a new baseline for Utah's end of level testing. The new SAGE test is different than the previous Criteria Referenced Tests (CRT), and more challenging, and therefore cannot be compared to CRT results from previous years. SAGE tests are adaptive, with questions based on new Utah Core standards, and contain technology-based questions versus all multiple choice.
